Boston bombing suspect buried in Virginia; county looking into legality
Fri May 10, 2013
Anyone who spends the time trying to block the burial of a corpse lacks both the intelligence and the decency to be worthy of attention.
Funeral director in Boston bombing case used to serving the unwanted
Mon May 6, 2013
These people protesting the burial should get a life and stop disgracing our country. This is ludicrous, it is a dead body and not going to hurt anyone. The uncle is going through enough pain, let him bury is nephew and be done with it. I strongly object to my tax money flying a body back to Russia. …
Adding up the financial costs of the Boston bombings
Tue Apr 30, 2013
They are still "costs" to society--just the check comes from the insurance company instead of the individual. Ultimately the bills not paid by individuals get paid by policyholders and taxpayers.
7 biggest unanswered questions over Boston Marathon bombings
Mon Apr 22, 2013
They left out my question: Why did they murder the MIT police officer in cold blood? Also what were their real plans for that evening of mayhem--escape and more bombs or a dramatic confrontation? We also need to ask questions about the media's sensationalism and the government's overbearing response …
The rightwing might like Coach Rice’s behavior, but Rutgers shouldn’t have ignored it
Fri Apr 5, 2013
I agree we need more discipline. Coach Rice's behavior exhibited a complete lack of discipline.
Man left in solitary confinement for 2 years gets $15.5 million settlement
Wed Mar 6, 2013
It would be nice if the journalists gave a more critical evaluation of this. See for the county's side of this story. Their side can be summed up as "we aren't the evil tyrants as portrayed, this was a difficult situation, we really did try and the prisoner was uncooperative". If the news story is …
Jeb Bush: I won't rule out 2016 White House run 'but I won't declare today'
Mon Mar 4, 2013
Bush's conduct in the Terri Schiavo case and the serious abuses of power should be serious considerations for all voters. For those who forgot--this is the case of the woman who ended up in a persistent vegatative state without a living will. The Courts all agreed that her husband had sufficient evi …
Hospital granted dad's request: no black nurses, lawsuit says
Tue Feb 19, 2013
This is actually a case before the EEOC, not a jury. A lot of times these lawsuits aren't over money, beyond back wages. The plaintiff just wants change. Often when people develop dementia, they become abusive to medical staff trying to help them. Even people who supported civil rights have been kno …
Drinking diet soda may not boost your appetite, after all
Tue Feb 19, 2013
People who drink a lot of diet soda may do so because they crave sweats; they are thus more likely to eat a lot of sweats anyhow. The body breaks aspartame down into two amino acids and methanol. The amount of methanol you can consume this way is less than you obtain from many fruits and vegetables …
Man protecting wife, kids from home invaders shot dead, family says
Wed Feb 13, 2013
There is nothing in the article that indicates whether or not the father owned a gun. Another article indicates they were surprised in their sleep, in which case a gun is a lot likely to be useful.
